Abortion is a very private, usually very difficult decision between a woman and her doctor that may be medically necessary or advisable for health reasons (or to prevent the fetus developing into a child destined for a very short, painful, miserable life or horrible deformity). It is not remotely analogous to someone going apeshit with an AR-15 at a high school, and if you're going to suggest it is then you are a complete fool.

To answer Sokur's question further, I don't believe an early stage fetus is the same thing as a child or even close. Science doesn't either. That's coming from a father of two who also has been through a few miscarriages. Yes, it gets a lot more difficult in late stages, but it's more or less unheard of (and generally illegal) for a late term abortion to be performed unless there is some kind of medical reason behind it. I'm very glad I've never had to be part of one of those decisions and wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy. But this is one of those areas where I leave it up to medical professionals and the women whose health or life may be at risk.

That said, I think the RvW SCOTUS decision is every bit as flawed and activist as Heller. Both were judges making policy instead of interpreting the constitution.
