seriousness, this whole thing seems like overblown hyperbole by both sides. (Thanks once again Mr. Trump for your typical bumbling of statements)

Unless I'm missing something, isn't he just talking about Red Flag Laws (which most of his bashers, and even many of the now apoplectic right agrees with)? We already have 5 states with those, FL just proposed it, and the RI Gov signed an EO trying to force it being considered. How did those 5 states manage to avoid this "outrage" about taking guns before due process when passing their laws? As I understand most of them, these are just temporary orders (e.g. 72 hrs) where the guns get taken due to urgency, and meeting certain potential endangering criteria (mental illness, hostile threats, etc.), and then the "due process" comes 72 hrs later when the agency has to go before a judge, and the defendant can be heard, in order to make the confiscation continue. Not unlike involuntary placement in a mental institution for 72 hrs which doesn't require "due process" before doing so.

Are we really so opposed to this? Especially you of all posters? Or are we just trying to score political points by pretending this is something it isn't?
