I'd think something underground built out of concrete with stored oxygen


would be fine ... but very expensive to build. I Googled "how hot are wildfires" and came up with ~1500 degrees F. I'm guessing a specially designed concrete mix could tolerate that no problem ... then it's just a matter of having enough oxygen to last you however long you're down there.

I know my grill is made out of concrete and 304 stainless and I believe rated for in excess of 2000 degrees F. While the grill was expensive, it's not meant to inhabit, so I definitely think it's possible...
