I agree. I will never embrace socialism as a governing system.


Anymore than I embrace the nationalist path we're on now. Lord knows that populist nationalism over the years has led to many a situation like the one in Venezuela. Currently, The Philippines comes to mind (as it relates to violence).

The difference is, there are politicians in this country who embrace not just the label of nationalism but the actual governing philosophy. Nobody on the dem side, not even the dreaded AOC, embraces Venezuelan type one-resource Socialism.

To find that in this country, you might come closest by looking at Alaska and its current repub admin, which promised increases in the state wide oil handout to help him get elected. That's exactly what our socialist friend Chavez did to win In Venezuela, and then put it on its path to ruin (once the price of oil could no longer support the fantasy).
