AIG says hello. They went out of business, current appearances to the


contrary, because of exactly that kind of epic mismanagement. Most of AIG itself had no idea how much risk it had taken on in the credit crisis until it was too late. That's just one example.

You described all big bureaucracies, not just the govt. Yet, big bureaucracies tend to be a necessity. With drawbacks, like most things in life.
