Stand up for all our alliances. Including the one with the very forces

Which took over 10,000 in casualties dismantling the ISIS regime in Syria - far more than we did. NATO is helpful in things like the joint US - Turkish patrols of the buffer zone which helped keep the peace, and our credibility in not abandoning our allies, until Trump mystified just about everyone.

Remember when NATO refused to join us in invading Iraq (unlike Afghanistan, where it was with us)? The alliance sets no requirement that we always agree with one another. We can say no - particularly when the rest of the alliance is with us - so much so that Erdogan threatened last week to send refugees streaming into Europe if the EU sactioned him.

Turkey does not speak for NATO in this matter. It only speaks for Turkey.
