Well then the entire NATO alliance will soon be reconsidering Turkey's

Membership, because obviously, a new Ottoman Empire is completely inconsistent with NATO's goals, and war between NATO and Turkey is inevitable. You think Trumpistan wants to stand aside while Erdogan pursues that goal? I am quite certain the US and NATO will not.

If this is the beginning of Erdogan's campaign of conquest, then standing down immediately after a phone call with this would-be conquerer is even more mystifying.
