What's this?

Two things make that an impossibility.

First of all, this may be the last opportunity in a long time that the GOP has a shot at determining a judgeship or policy. If they lose both the presidency and both houses of congress, they will be out in the cold and they will be a party in need of an identity which may take some time.

Lastly, we all know that Trump has no empathy whatsoever, so therefore healing is out of the question. He knows that he's likely to go down in the coming election, so another judge unfairly nominated will be his last act of sowing chaos and disunity.
