Hypocrisy unless you're arguing against Covid spending aside, where are you
getting these numbers? Are you using budgets and projected deficits rather than actual deficits?
By the actual deficit figures I'm seeing (link) Trump presided over $5.5T in debt added FY17-FY20 thanks to 3.132T in FY20 primarily due to Covid. Without that, his first 3 yrs, and even FY20 projections pre-Covid wouldn't have even made the top 4 under Obama.
BTW I'm also only seeing $7.3T for Obama for FY09-FY16, not $8.3T.
Yes I realize this distorts things a bit because FY's start before they actually take office, first year budgets aren't really dictated by that POTUS, and budgets are largely dictated by things out of their control (Financial crisis, Covid, entitlement spending, debt service, etc.), but actual deficit figures should matter.
