Let me put it differently, someone needs address the issues. Focus on trade skills education for instance. The Big Orange One (BOO) has done some of this, but like those of his ilk he believes "the market" will take care of it. Much like for profit education, health care etc. this is likely to end up with higher cost lower quality training. As is also typical of BOO he stood it up and pretty much walked away and claimed success. We need to get corporations involved certainly, but if we let the market prevail our results will not compare to those of countries like China/Scandinavia/Germany where the government provides oversight/assistance. I find it ironic how Republicans claim the market can handle everything, and government assistance ensures failure, but they then ask for assistance with battling China!

Infrastructure, and yes, green technology are also critical. They are needed NOW. Not just for the future of mankind, but also to provide middle-class jobs. Infrastructure spending provides non-inflationary economic growth. Green technology is the future and we are well behind in that area.

This spending MUST be significantly focused on more sparsely populated areas. Cities have ways that they can raise their own revenues to assist with this sort of spending. If 4 years pass and nothing has been done to address the concerns of the American heartland...

Finally, this will cost money. Taxes will need to be raised. People need to stop seeing taxes as strictly an expense and encourage government investment.
