Defeated. I don’t want a return of that or something similar in 2 or 4 years. I think dems regularly get politically outflanked, and spend far too much time complaining about repub dirty tricks than learning how to play the game better themselves. It is possible to do that and do the the things you are talking about AND be in a better position in 2 or 4 years.

This year’s dem failures were not about policies. To some extent, it was caused by an ideologically diverse party. But 3 things floored me. Dems took back the House in 2018 largely because of growing grassroots support for Ocare when people realized how close they came to losing it. And how do they take that victory in to 2020? By having front running progressive candidates run on killing Ocare. Boneheaded. Even worse were the “defund the police” branding effort and the self branding of some as socialists when they aren’t - instant guarantee of loss in Florida.
