So, yeah, lack of understanding of American civics it is. Thanks for
Clarifying. Courts are not infallible, but in a civil society, they are the forum for resolution of disputes. For our democracy to function, we must agree to accept that. That is the primary function of that branch of govt. You fail in court, you get to appeal, all the way until you can’t anymore. And yes, standing is one of the requirements to bring a suit, and if nobody with standing brings the suit, then of course there is no suit.
Texas has no right to impose its will on Pennsylvania. Neither does Pence or Congress. There are people with stranding who could have brought that outrageous suit that Texas brought, but none did.
So you are right, we have a disagreement, which is that I believe in the Constitution and American democracy. Your line of reasoning here fully explains what we need to double down on. If my personal ideal for president were in Trump’s shoes, I’d very likely continue to support him all the way up to the electoral college certification by the states. Once all the appeals and process in court are exhausted, it would be incumbent upon me as an American to accept that. I would have no tolerance for my beloved president if he didn’t. That would be the end of my support for him.
Courts are where we resolve disputes in this country. We don’t take matters into our own hands. We may not always agree with the verdicts, but we must respect them.
