Not much to add to the actual horror stories. But I remember
reading in Smithsonian Magazine many many years ago about the Spanish flu. It was incredibly fast acting. According to the read, men went off to work in the morning and sometimes were dead before the day's shift was over.
Our extended family (MD and WA) have had it with similar stories to yours. Our real concern is with a DIL in WA who has had CF since childhood. She's a heavyweight fighter and she seems like her body is fending it off as well as can be expected. Just praying that there's no lingering lung repercussions for her. (Being married to my stepson is stressful enough:)
