All three generations of my immediate family have so far avoided COVID, a
total of 13 people. We’re all vaxed and boosted per age eligibility, i.e., we’re all sane and rational. The closest it’s come to my household is our next door neighbor and his teenage son, about a week ago. Neighbor the Elder (an ICU physician, so duh, he got it) felt crappy for about 3 days but has since fully recovered. Neighbor the Younger had few if any symptoms. Mrs. Neighbor and Neighbor the Even Younger haven’t gotten it. I know no one else personally who has had it, much less died of it. Mrs. Sixer and I are fortunate enough to be retired and can easily take measures to avoid contact with others when we choose to.
