No. State legislatures were elected in a PREVIOUS election and may


not represent the people's current wishes.

The example below is based on your frequent argument that legislatures should be able to determine if an election was illegal and take corrective action, but a similar example would work with legislatures setting whatever rules they want for elections and keeping themselves in power that way.

Let's say the legislature is made up of Andy, Bobby, Charlie, Danny, and Eddy, who were elected in 2020. They are up for re-election in 2024 and all lose, based on the people's vote. But they've been given the power to rule on the legality of the election.

Guess what? Andy, Bobby, Charlie, Danny, and Eddy are going to declare that the election (that their opponents actually won) was illegal, they are actually the winners, and they get to stay in power for another term. Until they do it again in the next election, and the one after that, and...

There is no "redress at the ballot box," because the people on the ballot that are currently in office have the power to overturn the actual results and declare themselves winners. That is not democracy.
