They have flights everywhere out of National and a solid rewards program,

Plus I fly 15-20 times a year so it's still better than the alternatives (although Virgin and JetBlue are better). But it does seem like merging with US Air meant they took on US Air's crappy service practices.

I also just get the sense the US airline industry is a miserable industry. Foreign airlines are a thousand times better for whatever reason -- I guess many of them are government subsidized so they don't have the race to the bottom on quality that we've seen.
