I keep feeling like there is more to the story. Airlines do this

kind of crap on countless flights every day. Hell, I've made money on flights by volunteering to be bumped. I can't believe that no one on the flight was willing to be bumped for the appropriate perk level before the situation escalated to the point where this doctor was forcibly removed. I just keep thinking we're missing something here.
