Then what you're saying would actually have merit. I realize many repubs would say great! to that because it fits the political dogma. But you'll really wind up with a Kansas situation. Starving the beast is another great sound bite for repubs, but it tends to fall flat when people see real human ramifications of doing that.

But if places like Alabama truly needed to pay for all their own state services with SALT, no fed subsidies, at least what you are saying now would be more fact than fantasy. As it is, you're living in an orange amusement park where you can just say stuff and it's true! Reality is blue states pay much more of their own services with locally raised revenues, and red states are the ones who suck the most at the fed's teet.

And most of Uncle Sam's milk has a distinct blueish hue. Most of the nation's hot air has a distinct reddish orange shade.
