Well, your entire premise is false so there isn't much sense reading past


the opening sentence. No one is seriously asking for a gun ban. If you mean a ban on assault weapons, then that really should be a no-brainer and a very reasonable starting point to anyone other than the whackadoodles who think they need to fight a revolutionary war against our own government (and sorry if I don't give that element an ounce of credence -- they would deserve the bunker buster that gets dropped on them if they tried).

And a laundry list of ideas -- ranging from red flags, to more extensive background checks, to safety requirements, to magazine limits, to bans of specific types of weapons, to registration requirements, sale restrictions, etc. have been proposed and discussed her ad nauseum.
