Let's' take a time out and I'll try to help you:

-When you talk about a "gun ban" do you have anything specific in mind, or just a general ban on guns that would never pass even if there were no 2A?

-Assuming you don't mean a full ban (which was far from clear and actually contradicted by your OP, which is why everyone is confused) do you mean reinstating (and tweaking) the AWB from the 1990s, or something else?

-If you're talking about a specific ban on the class of military-style rifles that have been used in something like 95% of rampage shootings in the last decade, what is your issue with it? Do you just want to know how we will react if the SCOTUS declares something so obvious is unconstitutional? [Note: my view is that a ban on assault weapons IS a no-brainer. Any halfway honest cost-benefit analysis would make the same determination given there is a substantial cost and the only "benefit" I've heard other than what I said -- which is nutso militia types thinking they need them to fight our OWN GOVERNMENT -- is some nonsense about feral pigs. If you want to argue that point have at it, but state your position and make an argument already]

-Further, what is the point with all of your cherry picked facts regarding guns on the street? You realize that upwards of 90% of guns in circulation are handguns, and that only a small sliver of the population owns things like AR-15s, no? Assuming so, is your premise that there are millions of assault weapons on the street and it's impossible to get them removed (through the means every other country has employed when enacting similar bans, like buyback programs, penalties for keeping yours off the grid or selling it, etc.?)

-Finally, do you realize that there have been dozens of gun control ideas that most Americans -- even most gun owners -- support? We have discussed them here at length.
