You keep beating a drum you don't understand and admit you're not an expert
on and haven't researched. The courts ruled you cannot detain a child for over 20 days and that they have to be turned over to HHS' custody, not with US Marshalls that have custody over the parents. Now while I would prefer to see families kept together the entire time, even though it can be argued in a detention center or "tent city" is more "cruel" than with relatives or a vetted foster family, and those family detention centers are at capacity at the moment, you would have to overcome that hurdle to keep those families together while the parents go through the process.
This also only applies to those that have illegally crossed the border seeking asylum (as opposed to seeking it while safe in Mexico or somewhere other than their home they are needing to escape), as simple border jumpers are now being processed more quickly so as to hopefully stay under that 20 day limit and typically given the chance to be deported still together the entire time as a family.
