No I understood what you were saying, and why I never took issue with that
being "factual". I assumed it was close enough to the share they get from Russia, maybe a little low, maybe not, and definitely going up with this new pipeline.
My issue had more to do with its relevance to the point Trump was trying to make - you are increasing your dependence on Russia, you are sending them more money which allows them to be a stronger threat, and meanwhile you're not paying your "fair share" for defense of NATO. (which is ultimately the only thing I think Trump cares about here) It's just a way to use a different statistic to try and lower that number with regard to Trump's 70% to paint a narrative, but doesn't really change the points about what they're doing.
Trump was stupid to play "fast and lose" with the facts by saying "70% of your energy", when I suspect he took that from "they provide 70% of their Nat Gas imports" (I wasn't under the impression a ton of their oil comes from Russia). That's what Trump does all the time, so I'm not sure why anyone is surprised, let alone trying to drum up "outrage" over it. But that doesn't change the fact that they are increasing their dependence on Russia, they are increasing their enrichment of Russia, and they have been one of the biggest laggards in paying their "fair share" in defense.
