FWIW, I don't disagree with your point about the GOP not caring about the debt, but the corporate tax cuts were absolutely needed and did have a positive effect on bringing foreign profits back to the US. If you're wondering, the big yellow spike in repatriated dollars in the chart below is the first quarter after the corporate tax law change went into effect. And total Capex in 2018 was up 19% compared to 2017

If you want to argue against the individual tax cuts, you won't get much of an objection from me, but arguing against making our corporate tax rates competitive when we operate in a competitive global economy where companies have choices on where to invest/reinvest seems stupid to me.
