the question of bail reform shouldn't even come into play with this guy - that there should be some other mechanism/law that would keep a 133-time repeat offender who has missed 21 court appearances off the streets longer term, rather than relying on the requirement to post bail to keep him off the streets for a couple extra hours or days until he does so.

I'm sure there are good arguments against bail reform, but this guy, whose activities seem to exploit some other loophole to keep him on the streets, just isn't a good example to offset the arguments in favor of bail reform. It doesn't make sense to cancel bail reform and its positive impacts just to "handle" a single case that should be addressed by fixing some other root cause problem.
