I partly agree. It's a bad situation and we need to exit at some point.

However, exiting before there's really any agreement (or the parties have even met) cedes all negotiating leverage. That is Negotiation 101. And Trump claims negotiation is a big strength for him. It's comical that he calls this a good deal.

Even a bad deal prior to committing to withdraw would be better than no deal at all.
