US govt has to make the decision they've been avoiding for 19 years.

Either we're committed enough to peace in Afghanistan that we're going to throw our weight around and kick everyone's ass in to line OR we don't give a shit, and we're just going to leave it for them to sort it out without any US intervention.

At this point, we may be closer to the latter. If we wanted the former, we should have started that direction on Day 1.
