I'll be starting my 24th year in Richmond.
To give you an idea of how the school's are run. In 2015 we moved into a brand new high school. I went in over Christmas break to get my room together. Turned on my SmartBoard (I'd never had one before) and the bulb blew. It too them a year to replace the bulb because they argued over which department was responsible (IT, the people who installed it, the school itself . . . ). In May during SOL testing the air conditioning went out (brand new school mind you). Condensation quickly accumulated on the vents on the ceiling and water started dropping onto the laptops students were using for testing. It was so muggy I started wearing shorts to school . . .with my dress shirt. We still have the same issue with the AC to this day.
But I really enjoy interacting with the kids. They can be a hassle sometimes, but the shit that comes out of their mouths is unbelievable and timeless.
