He apparently knows how to pick a "wiinner"

It would seem that good PR strategies are as important to success in the pharmaceutical industry as good chemistry. What Gilead has done has been truly brilliant for its shareholders: propping up a money-losing ebola antiviral with some initially favorable results for the treatment of COVID, then maintaining the illusion/perception of efficacy even as more and more data suggested otherwise while other repurposed drugs are labeled snake oil. And all with the FDA's seal of approval, no less.
