I'm pushing nothing except unrestricted continuation of the long-prevailing
.. and until now widely accepted medical paradigm of off label prescription of medications deemed medically appropriate by practicing physicians for their patients...
And also, obviously, "pushing" open and unfettered inquiry into, and discussion of, potentially promising treatments for what pretty much everyone agrees is a potentially deadly and inarguably disruptive pathogen. We should be using everything on our toolbox, including ivermectin... Though I'm not sure where I ever "pushed" it on anyone... The people should definitely be informed, and not be afraid of discussing it with or seeking to inform their doctors of their interest and the basis therefore.. just as the pharmaceutical companies would have you do with any of the other hundreds of (very expensive and under patent) pharmaceuticals they push to you daily by a TV advertising.
Bottom line on ivermectin:
1) it is a human drug, and was developed as such
2) It is available (both legally and ethically), as is any prescription pharmaceutical, for off-label prescription by physicians in consultation with their patients, we're deemed medically appropriate and safe via that process
3) As prescribed by physicians, It's safe. The medication has a safety record as good as any and better than most medications. If you can find me a clinical example of a death from physician-prescribed human ivermectin, I would love to see it.
4) There is scientific evidence for its efficacy as both a treatment for and a prophylaxis against covid. You may challenge the "weight" of that evidence, or, personally, choose to value it less than others do... But evidence does exist, and to say otherwise is not at all truthful.
If you can provide substantive rebuttals to any of the four points above, like I said, I'd love to hear them... Because this is an area of interest to me. That said, to reiterate, I'm not "pushing" anything on anyone, and I would challenge you to link the post where I have done so...
But people should be informed, doctors should be allowed to make healthcare decisions in consultation with their patients based on their particular profiles, and both should be allowed to discuss the science surrounding in the potential for all treatments... Including ivermectin
