Issued preliminary results from the brand new vaccine that showed a very high rate of success in preventing infections, much less serious disease and death. As time went on, and more data was collected they found that not surprisingly the effectiveness of the vaccines at preventing infection wanes over time, like with flu vaccines, but effectiveness at preventing serious disease remains extremely high.
Science. It’s how things work.
