A couple of things...


* More data supports the notion that vaccines slow transmission than not.
* Given a safe treatment, it doesn't make sense from a public health perspective to not apply mitigation across the population.
* The next variant carries the unknown, it might not be as innocuous to the young and healthy populations as the previous strains. Also, current vaccinations are effective against the delta variant.
* It's a public health issue, proven public health approaches make the most sense.
