to women's rights and equality. It is foundational for other rights of privacy that we enjoy. Once it is removed, women living in the states that outlaw it will no longer be equal. Individual rights should not be dependent on what state you live in. Certainly, some of the states which outlaw abortion will try to prosecute doctors and patients or the providers of abortifacients even if they live in states where abortion is legal or of someone attempts to travel to a state where it is legal. This is analogous to the Fugitive Slave Laws. It will pit states against each other as legal states attempt to block enforcement efforts by states where it is not. Eliminating Roe will exacerbate rather than resolve our divisions. If the GOP regains both houses of Congress and the White House, there is absolutely no doubt in my mind that they will ditch the filibuster to pass federal restrictions.

Further, an overturn of Roe, a repudiation of stare decisis just because some politicians on the packed Court decide that they should reverse a right people have had for 50 years, has grave implications for other decisions the Court has made. What else will be up for grabs?
