If you're asking me, I think the woman and the doctors involved are the ones who should decide when. As discussed ad nauseum, third trimester abortions are exceedingly rare and exceedingly traumatic. No one would choose that if they could avoid it. Second trimester abortions SHOULD be more rare, but restrictions around early abortions including the closing of clinics, requiring a hospital visit and multiple doctor reviews, too often preclude a first trimester termination. First trimester should be unrestricted IMO and more than half of abortions nowadays occur using abortifacients available by mail. Except, of course, some of the Gilead states are trying to eliminate that option.
