I think that there's almost zero doubt that
immigrants are good for the economy in the aggregate. If you wanna talk single instances of individuals and how they will help a given locality, it would become extremely cumbersome.
Refugees IMO are actually a different story. They're not coming here because it is America -- they're coming because it is not Syria ... or wherever. I do have concerns about assimilation and values for that reason, and I think we should explore diplomatic solutions that protect these peoples lives in a basic humanitarian way, but doesn't necessarily attempt to make them Americans, either...
