I think it depends on where you sit,
And who the immigrants are. There's no question more immigration puts downward pressure on wages. But it's a boon for employers. Immigrants do tend to be entrepreneurial, and I think it would be good to import doctors to practice in underserved areas. Basically, it depends on where you sit, personally I don't think importing more low skilled workers is necessarily a good thing for the economy. If I owned a fast food franchise I'd think differently.
