Systems being different because patients are different.


When you have an obese, inactive society who smokes you get higher health care costs (DM, NASH, htpertension, COPD, and about a dozen more illnesses that come along with our lifestyles). If we decide its important to fund everyone's health care, we will pay significantly more. I would be very interested to see how cost breaks down for each illness. I feel like that could somewhat minimize the comparison of apples to oranges.
