What if US prisons and jails (holding US citizens) didn't provide beds,

soap, or toothbrushes to inmates?

And forced them to sleep on a concrete, crowded floor, with the temperature kept uncomfortably cold and the lights on all night so they couldn't realistically even sleep?

Would you consider those to be acceptable conditions for US citizens to be kept in? Or would you say that's an inhumane way for our government to treat its own people, even if they are in jail?
