Agreed ... but the Trump "character" would actually be far preferable to

a small town mayor in terms of experience. IOW: an actually successful executive who - like most CEOs - is intellectually curious, reads a lot, is a good leader, has been promoted to CEO because of job performance, experience and education, etc. Even if you want to stipulate that government experience is really required in 2019 (I disagree FWIW), the experience of a small town mayor is basically irrelevant to leading a national political party and being the head of the executive branch of the Federal Govt.

South Bend's annual budget is less than $400M. That's probably roughly the annual revenue of all the Red Lobster restaurants in the Northeast. Would you make the northeast regional manager of Red Lobster the fucking President?
