right to bear "guns", it guarantees the right to bear "arms". And there are all sorts of arms (and some guns... i.e. fully auto) that we severely restrict access to for the general public. We just need to greatly expand the restrictions. If it were up to me, I would limit guns to handguns, bolt action rifles, and shot guns. No detachable magazines. I know that would never fly, but that wouldn't stop any hunter from hunting and wouldn't stop any homeowner having an effective weapon for self defense.
