Bullshit. There should be no such thing as a debt ceiling.

When you vote to pass spending measures, you have voted to pay for them. If you want to prevent spending in the future, you don’t support them, and you attempt to win elections. The dems could raise the debt limit to infinity but that does not give them a blank check to do anything. They have to pass bills, win elections, make sure a pres doesn’t veto, all that.

You’re just towing a silly party line. Not raising the debt ceiling causes a default on our bills, which is failing to pay for the shit you bought. Putting quotes around that statement does not change that reality.
