A spending bill this size? I think there is some validity to frustration over their unwillingness to put a number forward. But for good reason - Sinema and Manchin do not have the same priorities. In fact they are somewhat at odds, like on climate change. What makes you think they agree?

Let’s not forget the dust up when Biden first announced the infrastructure agreement, saying it was coupled with the reconciliation bill, creating something of a repub revolt. Biden walked it back. It is not as clear as you make it out to be.

Keeping our roads and bridges from crumbling should be no more or a partisan issue than Covid. I disagree with your view of the ramifications. Doing nothing at all will be most disastrous for the dems, and will reinforce growing conviction about Biden admin incompetence.

Dems were not elected to fix our roads? I think that should go without saying. They certainly were not elected to let them crumble because they couldn’t get their way on an entire progressive agenda.

Remember the Trump baby balloon, especially in European protests? Shouldn’t the dems not be trying to emulate that?
