I'm using "free association in a very broad sense... as in a business owner
choosing to not "associate" (e.g. hire or service) minorities. A libertarian might argue they should have the right to do just that and that the free market will correct such abhorrent behavior by a business owner. I think that's a pretty naive view, and had we taken that approach 50 years ago instead of actually passing anti-discrimination laws, minorities, and specifically african americans, would not have made nearly as much progress over the last 50 years as they have. But as much as I disagree with the libertarian view on anti-discrimination laws, I merely find the view naive and impractical, not morally repugnant. That's VERY different from outright bigotry and white supremacy.
