Can see some of that with the Trumpster types, but I don't think
they ever were into libertarianism, just guns. They're "law and order" types. And they've bought the economic argument, but that's all conservatives.
The Paul types are typically great on drugs/crime/police state and surveilance. They just think we should "audit the Fed" and go back to the gold standard. They are pretty prone to conspiracy theory w/r/t anything government. Not sure where they land on immigration, but then you have the Koch libertarians for full open borders, get that labor in.
So I don't know what the heck I'm saying, the people you're talking about are weird mutants who I'm pretty sure d.g.a.f about principles, in that sense I agree. I don't think explicitly libertarian messaging is too responsible for getting them there, other than the economic stuff which has moved everyone on the right righter via Reaganomics.
