Does it? Why are self-interests a bad thing? Does not the grocer have
his self-interests in mind when he opens his business? And yet, through his self-interests he provides for the needs of others by making food readily and easily available for those who need it. The customer's self-interests in eating drives that person to exchange his labor with an employer who needs worker for wealth that can, in turn, be exchanged for food from the grocer which helps the grocer. The customer, the employer and the grocer are all acting in their own self-interest but yet they still ultimately help one another.
