Yes, companies are doing better

I know my company has gotten better. We now require a female and a minority on every single hiring interview. That wasn’t in place 5-10 years ago.

So yes, we should appreciate positive changes being made. But the flip side of that is, for the centuries those policies weren’t in place, it was likely an uneven playing field. So if it was an uneven playing field 15, 20, 30 years ago, that is likely skewing the positions and salaries of women and minorities today in those positions that take 20-30 years to get to.
