If it is indeed Bernie, and it would take a Super Tuesday miracle to stop
It IMO, you have two of the most prominent "never _______" candidates ever to face off against each other. One wants to tear down the Constitution in terms of any checks on exec power, gut the bureaucracy he invents Deep State conspiracy theories against, and tear down the institutional order that ushered in about 75 years of unprecedented peace, prosperity, and progress. The other wants to create some kind of fantasy socialist paradise, even though that has utterly failed in the world (IMO, the Bern's true ambitions go way beyond his stated policy goals - I see no other reason he self brands as a socialist, which creates an obstacle outside his own base).
For many of us, this isn't just about lesser evils. This is about two completely unacceptable candidates. Rabid minorities are dictating to the rest of us. One took over the repub party, and now the other extreme is taking over the dem party. And November? I bet Trump wins, maybe with a smaller popular minority than he got in 2016, and maybe with an even smaller overall turnout than in '16, as voters throw up their hands over this horrible choice between extremes.
Apathy away from the rabid extremes might be the true root cause of all this. Plus the way echo chambers today convince the extremes that the most successful world structure in human history needs to be torn down. I gotta say - we're giving Vlad and the world's nationalists who share Trump's vision their wet dream in November.
