Not just Canada, its every modern nations (and several non-modern) nation
All of your suggestions are good.
But they don't change the underlying truth that every single country that has tried universal healthcare has implemented it at significantly less cost than the current US system with almost everyone of them providing roughly equivalent healthcare.
Larger countries like Germany. Hopelessly inefficient countries like France and Italy. Stodgy countries like Canada, technocratic countries like Israel. Crunchy countries like New Zealand.
While the revenue sources may change from employers to Health Insurance companies to care providers; to companies and citizens to Government to Healthcare providers ... the total expenditures are going to go down.
Again, look at Canada as one of many examples. They aren't that much different from us and they pay half. I repeat, I've been to Canada, and they are fat, out of shape, smoke, get tattoos, don't exercise, do drugs, vape ... they pay half.
