As long as they let the physicians run it
When bureaucrats who dont have knowledge of taking care of patients are in charge, it can be a clusterfuck. Keep it simple and let docs decide what is quality care and what is not, fine by me. Our group managed 14,000 county medicaid patients just fine, good quality outcomes AND we ended up turning a profit for us (saved money on expenses) on the last CCO contract. For some inexplicable reason they awarded this years new contract to an insurance company run by non medical people with masters of public health degrees but not clinical experience or M.D
Degrees and they have already FUBAR'd the program so badly they are hemorrhaging funds. Their outcome measures are gonna suck.
