I will add and say

I do not expect police to trash their own.

I do not expect the military to trash their own.

They both have had their bad incidents. Those have to be publicly investigated.

I do expect both to report a concern before bad incidents. These can be internally investigated.

Both jobs are very hard and dangerous. I am in IT and it has stress but I have no fear of losing my life.

Their jobs have stress with fear of losing their life. Every car stop and in particular domestic violence have to be stressful. It is a hard job where most are only allowed to be in the field for max 25 years.
