The cop told him he stopped in front of the stop bar.

I don't know if that is an offense or not, but the real reason was the suspended license of the car owner. I think what sounded like some bitching and moaning by the driver surely didn't help his cause with the cop. But the cop did escalate the situation all on his own.

We watch Live PD all the time and it amazes me how many stops they make and the driver has a warrent or driving on a suspended license. And on top of that they have a small amount of drugs in the car. You can almost bet if the driver or anyone in the car doesn't have an id, they have a warrant. If I can put 2 and 2 together after watching a few hours of the show, it's no wonder the cops have preconceived notions when they make a stop.
